About Pace-IICL Professional Certificates

What is the process to enroll in a Pace-IICL professional certificate program?

It is a three-step process:  Identify the program(s) that best meet your professional needs and objectives; (2) complete the online registration form; and (3) pay the program fee online. All three steps must be completed before the program registration deadline.

How much does it cost to enroll in a  Pace-IICL professional certificate program?

Program fees vary depending on the length of the program, and the level of instructor feedback that has been designed into the program, via group discussions and simulaton exercises.  See our Fee Schedule for details.

Who are the typical participants in the Program?

Arbitrators, dispute resolution professionals, commercial law practitioners, in-house counsel, contracts and commercial professionals (private sector and government), academics and post-graduate law students* are encouraged to enroll.  Generally, our programs include a cross-section of participants from these different groups, originating from every corner of the globe.  There is a rich diversity of experience and perspective which provides tremendous value during discussions and simulation exercises.

Are scholarships or financial aid available?

Federal or state aid is not available for a professional certificate program.  Students may be eligible for a discounted fee or partial scholarship based on their enrollment option and/or IICL approval.  Installment payment options are available.  See Fee Schedule for details.

Are all your Programs online?

Currently, the IICL is offering three online certificate programs, and is developing two in-person summer intensives (week-long programs).  For international students, visas are not available for on-campus study during participation in our online programs.

Can I get a dual certificate?

Yes.   Most participants opt to combine the International Commercial Law Certificate with one of the ADR certificates (Mediation or Arbitration).  Discounted tuition options are also available when you elect to enroll in more than one program. See our Fee Schedule for details.

Do I need to invest in additional hardware or software to participate in an online program?

No.  The online classroom can be accessed via a smartphone, tablet or computer through the link provided to registered participants.  Special video-conferencing services are not required and the platform does not generally require special IT accommodation to function.  Participants should ensure that they have speakers, microphone and camera attached to their computer or device. A solid internet connection is required for an uninterrupted connection and access to course materials.

Can the certificate be applied toward the JD or LLM degree at Pace Law School?

At this time, the certificate cannot be applied toward either degree at Pace Law School.
